Lovely You Stamp Set

It was a lovely surprise to get an Australia Post delivery on a Sunday, in fact, so surprising that I had to check the date. As usual, my delivery guy Joel was all smiles and cheery while he greeted my boisterous buddy Nugget, the dog.

The best part of the surprise was that it was a Stampin' Up!® delivery and I got to play with new stamps and colours. Today I used to Lovely You stamp set which is a cling set. It has cute little flowers and foliage as well as some "Lovely" sentiments, and we can never have enough sentiments can we? 

I have been hoping to use the Highland Heather and Purple Posy cardstock and they worked so well with the set, using Highland Heather, Soft Sea Foam and Mint Macaron stamp pads. The Lovely Labels Pick a Punch works perfectly with these sentiments and are a good bundle to purchase. It saves a little money to purchase bundles and who doesn't want that? The Gingham ribbon comes for the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack and ties in quite well, don't you think?

            

This is a fairly feminine card so the challenge was then to create something that was a little more masculine. 

This was the result. I love the earthy tones in this, against the wood grained layer of the card. I started with a Soft Suede base card and layered a wood grain from the In Good Taste DSP. I then layered a piece of sticky note in the centre of my Whisper White layer and stamped around it using Soft Suede and Sahara Sand stamp pads. Then I removed the sticky note paper and stamped the sentiment into the negative space left behind.
