Anna Hands: By The Dock, Door Card

Today's card is a Door Card using By The Dock stamp set and Dockside Dies as well as the Mountain Air stamp set. I enjoyed creating a scenic landscape for this card.

The base card is Soft Suede cut 20cm by 14.9 cm and scored on the long side at 5 cm and 15 cm to create the "Doors". These two panels were then covered by In Good Design DSP cut 14.5 cm by 4.5 cm. Two pieces of Whisper White were cut 14.5 cm by 4.5 cm also to cover the inside of the panels.

The scene is stamped on Whisper White cut 14.5 cm by 9.5 cm. I used a sponge brayer to lightly lay some Balmy Blue on the card, concentrating the colour on the centre and lightening towards top and bottom. I then used Watercolor Pencils in Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Balmy Blue to build detail into the water area. I stamped a few waves on the water, using Balmy Blue. The trees belong to the Mountain Air stamp set and were stamped firstly in Soft Sea Foam and then in Mossy Meadow. The dock and boat were stamped onto Crumbcake cardstock using the Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad. They were Die cut and then sponged with a dauber using Early Espresso to create depth and shadows.

The oars were stamped onto the side panels using the Soft Suede Classic Stampin' pad. The internal sentiment was stamped onto a piece of Whisper White and the then die cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. The happy birthday sentiment on the front was firstly stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut out using the Stitched Rectangle dies. A tag was used for the second layer and cut out with the Fancy Tag Topper. Both pieces were sponged around the edges with Balmy Blue. When all the pieces were glued together, I added a Playing with Patterns Resin Dot to the front tag to resemble a tack. I added two oars to the envelope and sponged it with Balmy Blue to compliment the card.
