Gnome for the Holidays.

I don't want to alarm anyone, but the Christmas Season is almost upon us. For crafters who make their gifts and Christmas Cards, there is a real urgency at this time of the year. With that in mind I sat down to make some cards to show that Stampin' Up! products can be used to make a variety of cards.

When I first saw the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set, I didn't fall in love with it. I do, however love colouring with watercolour pencils. I CASED the first cards from the Stampin' Up! catalogue in order to get started. For someone new to stamping and card making, this is a terrific way to get your creative juices flowing. Even the most creative crafter  occasionally needs a bit of a kick start. 

I started with Whisper White cardstock and stamped the treehouse and two gnome images of the three in the stamp set. I used Watercolor Pencils to colour in a variety of colourways. The beauty of using these pencils is that they coordinate beautifully with the cardstocks and DSP. 

During an afternoon of chatting with a crafty friend, I was able to whip up a set of ten cards. Its amazing how easily changing the cardstock and DSP can change the look of simple images. 

These are IDEAL cards if you only have one or two stamp set and a limited collection of cardstock. 

Just a little side note, when I say chatting with a friend, I mean using one of the many connection tools on a phone. In this case 'Houseparty'.  Melbourne, Australia is still in pretty severe lock down and we are limited to a 5k radius from home. Thank goodness for Crafty Friends who like to catch up to create...there are ways!
